Tag based on the Vendor of the products in the order

If you'd like to tag orders depending on the Vendor assigned to the products within the order, then our Vendor for the products in the order criteria can do just that.

This criteria has two conditions that can be used to match an order:

  • includes: At least one of the products in the order must contain the specified vendor.
  • does NOT include: None of the products in the order must contain the specified vendor.

There is also an option in this criteria to tag an order if ANY of the products in the order have an empty Vendor name.

How to use the criteria

To create a workflow using this criteria, click on the Create New Workflow button from the main Workflows view:

Define the trigger to determine at which point you would like the workflow to run, we recommend selecting the trigger when orders are created.

Click the Add criteria to your workflow button:

The Vendor for the products in the order criteria can be found within the Product category in the Select criteria pop-up window:

Click the  Use in your workflow button to select this criteria.

Popular use case:

For illustration purposes, let's say that we'd like to tag any order where at least one of the products in the order has the Vendor, YT Industries.

Select the includes option from the available conditions:

Enter a Vendor name as the value:

Choose the name of the tag you'd like to see on all orders that match this workflow and enter it into the Add Tags when the workflow matches FIXED TAGS TO BE APPLIED section. In this example, we have entered the tag YT Industries Order.

Then Click on the Add fixed tag button:

It is mandatory to name your workflow to save or edit it. Otherwise, you won't be able to save the changes or even test them. Then, check the summary of your workflow, and if happy, either Test your Workflow against an existing order or hit Save Workflow

Each new order will be checked to see if any of the products have been assigned with the YT Industries vendor name. If there are any, the order will be tagged with the name of the fixed tag that you have selected.

If you'd like to tag orders when  ANY of the products in the order have an empty Vendor name, then this is the option to select:
Configure the fixed tags that you'd like to be applied to the order.

Backdating

This criteria option will work when Backdating your orders.

Dynamic Tagging

If you're looking to add all of the Vendor names of products in the order as order tags, then this can be achieved using our Dynamic Tags feature:
