Tag the order if the order has no tags
This simple criteria will allow you to identify and apply tags to any order that has been created without any tags already applied.
This is especially useful where Merchants create orders from draft orders or have any apps or services that play a part in the order creation process (i.e. creating orders via the Shopify API).
Depending on your desired workflow, it can, therefore, be useful to identify if an order has been created without any tags. We have an Order has no tags criteria that can be used to achieve this.
Please Note:
This workflow specifically deals with analysing tags on orders as the order is created. If you are looking to identify if any tags exist on orders AFTER Order Tagger has processed your workflows, then you should use our No tags are being applied by other workflows criteria which can be found in the Other category of our criteria pop-up selector.
How to use the criteria
To create a workflow using this criteria, click on the Create New Workflow button from the main Workflows view:
Define the trigger to determine at which point you would like the workflow to run, we recommend selecting the when orders are created trigger.
Click the Add criteria to my workflow button:
The Order has no tags criteria can be found within the Order category in the Select criteria pop-up window:
Click the Use in your workflow button to the right of the workflow name to select this criteria.
You will then see that there are no further configurable options within the criteria:
Defining the Tag name
Define the tag name/names that you would like to be applied when this workflow matches your criteria (don't forget to click the Add fixed tag button):
We always recommend that you give your workflow a name to make it easy to identify within your list of Order Tagger workflows (look to the right-hand side of the workflow page):
Hit Save Workflow and that's it!
Dynamic Tags
The Order has no tags criteria is not currently a dynamic tagging option.
Will this workflow work with Backdating?
Yes, the Order has no tags criteria is available to use in our backdating service, however, if tags have been applied to orders since the order was created, then they will no longer be matched using this criteria.
