Tag orders based on the Zip Code/Postcode used in the shipping address

A workflow can be set up within Order Tagger to tag orders based on the Zip Code/Postcode used in the shipping address. This criteria will allow you to analyze the order's Shipping Zip Code/Postcode to search for a particular string.

How to use the criteria

To create a workflow using this criteria, click on the Create New Workflow button from the main Workflows view:

Define the trigger to determine at which point you would like the workflow to run, we recommend selecting the trigger when orders are created.

Click the Add criteria to my workflow button:

The Zip Code/Postcode used in the shipping address criteria can be found within the Shipping category in the Select criteria pop-up window:

Click the Use in your workflow button on the right to select this criteria.

You will then be presented with the following screen:

You will see that there are a number of options in the criteria to select from:

Criteria Options

The following Criteria options allow you to check the Zip Code/Postcode for various matches:

is: Does the Zip Code/Postcode exactly match the string you have specified?

is not: Does the Zip Code/Postcode NOT exactly match the string you have specified?

contains: Does the Zip Code/Postcode contain the string you have specified anywhere in the value?

does NOT contain: Does the Zip Code/Postcode NOT contain the string you have specified anywhere in the value?

begins with: Does the Zip Code/Postcode begin with the string you have specified?

does not begin with: Does the Zip Code/Postcode NOT begin with the string you have specified?

in: Does the Zip Code/Postcode match exactly any of the comma separated list of values you have specified?

Select a criteria option based on what you are trying to identify from the Zip Code/Postcode.

Let's create a workflow that looks for a Zip Code/Postcode beginning with NW.

Select begins with from the dropdown menu:

Enter NW into the value field:

Choose the name of the tag you'd like to see on all orders that match this workflow and enter it into the Add tags when the workflow matches section.

In this example, we have used the tag NW London:

Searching multiple potential values

Rather than setting up a workflow for each ZipCode/Postcode you want to match, you may wish to use the IN criteria option and enter multiple potential values and separate these by a comma.

When entering multiple comma-separated values, it is recommended to NOT include a space between the commas.

Please also note that when entering Postcodes that they are NOT required to be case-sensitive or have the space between Inward & Outward sections of the code, i.e nW96aQ is acceptable.

In this example, we have used the three zip codes for East Orange, NJ:

Choose the name of the tag you'd like to see on all orders that match this workflow and enter it into the Add tags when the workflow matches section.

In this example, we have used the tag EAST ORANGE (NJ):

Saving and naming your workflow

It is mandatory to name your workflow to save or edit it. Otherwise, you won't be able to save the changes or even test them. Then, check the summary of your workflow, and if happy, either Test your Workflow against an existing order or hit Save Workflow::
