Tag orders based on product tags

If you need to tag your orders based on any product tags that exist on the products in the order, then this criteria is what you'll need.

How to use the criteria

To create a workflow using this criteria, click on the Create New Workflow button from the main Workflows view:

Click the Add criteria to my workflow button:

The Product Tags criteria can be found within the Product category in the Select criteria pop-up window:

Click the Use in your workflow button on the right to select this criteria.

You will see that there are a number of conditions in the criteria to select from:

Criteria Conditions

The following conditions allow you to check the Product Tags for various types of matches:

includes: Do any of the product tags in the order match exactly the tag name that you specify?

does NOT include : If none of the product tags in the order match exactly the tag name that you specify?

begins with: Do any of the product tags in the order begin with the string of text that you specify?

contains: Do any of the product tags in the order contain the string of text that you specify?

are any of: Do any of the product tags in the order match exactly any of the comma separated list of values you have specified?

Select a criteria condition based on what you are trying to identify in your Product Tags value.

Adding Tags

There are three ways to add tags using this criteria:

Use the matching product tag as an order tag

You can add tags within this criteria by selecting the Use the matching product tag as an order tag

When selecting this option, only the product tag that matches the criteria condition you have specified will be applied to the order as a tag.

Fixed Tags

Choose the name of the tag you'd like to see on all orders that match this workflow and enter it into the Add tags when the workflow matches  FIXED TAGS TO BE APPLIED section:

Remember to click on the Add fixed tag button.

Dynamic Tags

If you'd like to apply all of the Product Tags from an order as order tags, then we have a Dynamic Tag that you can configure to do this.
Go to the DYNAMIC TAGS TO BE APPLIED section of the workflow builder and click on the Add dynamic tag button:
Click on the Select the order attribute to use for this tag dropdown:
and select the Product Tags option:

Select a tag prefix or suffix if required, and then click on the Add Dynamic Tag button:

That's it. All  Product Tags contained in the order will now be applied as order tags:

Saving your workflow

It is mandatory to name your workflow to save or edit it. Otherwise, you won't be able to save the changes or even test them. Then, check the summary of your workflow, and if happy, either Test your Workflow against an existing order or hit Save Workflow:

Will this workflow work with Backdating?

Yes, this workflow is available to backdate using our backdating service.
