Tag based on Discount Code used
If you are looking to tag orders based on whether or not a discount code was used, and if so, what the title of the discount code was, then this is the criteria for you.
This criteria will also identify the Title of any 'Automatic' store discounts applied to the order.
The screenshot below depicts the options when creating your discount within the Shopify admin area:
How to use the criteria
To create a workflow using this criteria, click on the Create New Workflow button from the main Workflows view:
Define the trigger to determine at which point you would like the workflow to run, we recommend selecting the trigger when orders are created.
Click the Add criteria to my workflow button:
The Discount Code criteria can be found within the Transaction category in the Select criteria pop-up window:
Click the Use in your workflow button on the right to select this criteria.
You will then be presented with the following screen:
Select the condition that the criteria must match:

Here is what each option within the conditions dropdown will do:
contains: If a Discount Code was used and it contains the specified alphanumerical string in the code.
does NOT contain: If a Discount Code was used and it does not contain the specified alphanumerical string in the code.
is: If a Discount Code was used and the code matches exactly the value specified.
is NOT: If a Discount Code was used and the code does not match the exact value specified.
begins with: If a Discount Code was used and the beginning of the code matches exactly the alphanumerical string specified.
in: If a Discount Code was used and the code matches exactly any of the values specified in the comma-separated list.
is empty: A Discount Code was not used.
is NOT empty: A Discount Code was used.

Defining the Tag name
Define the tag name/names that you would like to be applied when this workflow matches your criteria (don't forget to click the Add fixed tag button):
It's worth giving your workflow a name to help you identify it at a later date, so add a workflow name in the New Workflow section, check the summary of your workflow and if happy, either Test your Workflow against an existing order or hit Save Workflow:
